Robert Irwin Confirms He Is Single and Open to Love

Robert Irwin has set the record straight on his relationship status, confirming he is single and open to finding love. The 22-year-old wildlife conservationist and recent winner of Dancing with the Stars season 34 made the revelation during a radio interview on Australia's KIIS FM on Monday, January 19.

When asked directly if he was single, Irwin quipped, 'Oh, we're going straight in for the exclusive,' before confirming 'yes.' He added that he is 'definitely' looking for love but taking a relaxed approach, saying, 'You gotta let it happen, because I'm so here and there and everywhere and 100 miles per hour.' He teased, 'Watch this space. There's not much to report at the moment.'

Irwin was previously in a relationship with Rorie Buckey, niece of the late Heath Ledger, from 2022 to 2024. Recent rumours linked him to fellow Dancing with the Stars winner Xochitl Gómez, but he maintains he is still on the market. In a November 2025 interview with the New York Times, he described dating in the spotlight as 'so challenging to navigate,' noting that 'anything you do will be on TikTok the next day.'

Irwin, the youngest son of the late Steve Irwin, won the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy alongside pro dancer Witney Carson, beating runner-up Alix Earle. Reflecting on the experience, he said his father would be 'stoked' that he got the opportunity, adding, 'He was the sort of person where he just never held back.'
