Georgina Rodriguez's Cheeky Joke About Ronaldo's £3.7m Engagement Ring
Ronaldo's fiancée jokes about 'least he could offer' ring

Georgina Rodriguez, the fiancée of football icon Cristiano Ronaldo, has finally broken her public silence on the stunning engagement ring she received after nearly a decade of waiting, quipping that the lavish jewel was "the least he could offer."

The 'Enormous' Diamond and a Decade-Long Wait

In a candid interview with Elle Spain, the 31-year-old model and entrepreneur opened up about the moment the 40-year-old Portuguese superstar proposed in the summer of 2025. Rodriguez revealed she was so shocked by the proposal and the scale of the ring that she left it in her room overnight, only admiring the 37-carat diamond in sunlight the following day.

"It's gorgeous," Rodriguez stated. "It's the least he could offer me after 10 years of waiting." She emphasised that the eight-year wait for the proposal justified the opulent gift. The couple, who met in a Gucci store in 2016 and share three children, announced their engagement to Rodriguez's 67 million social media followers, where the ring drew thousands of congratulatory comments.

A Ring Worth Millions and Swift Wedding Plans

Jewellery experts had previously estimated the value of the spectacular ring at up to $5 million (£3.74 million). While Rodriguez has now shared her personal reaction, Ronaldo himself had discussed the purchase in a November interview with Piers Morgan, explaining he worked hard to find a stone his partner would love.

Despite the grandeur of the ring, the couple are planning a notably low-key ceremony. Rodriguez confirmed to Elle Spain that their wedding will be "a small wedding, 100%, without a doubt." The pair are now swiftly organising their big day, though Ronaldo has never publicly explained the reason for the eight-year gap before his proposal.

A Legendary Career Continues

Cristiano Ronaldo, who was born in Madeira and has earned over 200 caps for Portugal, continues to play at the highest level aged 40. His legendary career includes 34 major trophies, such as five UEFA Champions League titles and a European Championship. He holds the all-time records for both goals and assists in the Champions League.

After two celebrated spells at Manchester United, the forward now plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, where he has scored an impressive 86 goals since joining in 2023.
