Ruth Langsford Opens Up on 'Painful' Divorce from Eamonn Holmes

Ruth Langsford has spoken publicly for the first time about her divorce from Eamonn Holmes, describing the split as 'very painful' but acknowledging the added pressure of going through it in the public eye. The Loose Women star, 65, and GB News presenter, also 65, announced their separation last May after 14 years of marriage and 27 years together.

In an interview with Woman and Home magazine, Langsford admitted she does not want to end up alone, especially as Holmes has moved on with new girlfriend Katie Alexander. 'I’m quite fine being on my own, but not forever,' she said. 'When you’re in a relationship, it’s easy to say, “Great, I’ve got a weekend to myself,” but when you think that might be every weekend, it’s a different story.'

The TV presenter also addressed her recent weight loss, attributing it partly to the stress of the divorce. 'I have lost weight. Divorce obviously has something to do with it but I also went for a hormone check and rebalance, which helped,' she explained. Langsford has reportedly lost a stone and a half since the breakup, sharing her healthier eating habits on Instagram, including homemade green juices and balanced lunches.

Since the split, Langsford has remained single while Holmes has been in a relationship with 42-year-old relationship counsellor Katie Alexander. During a recent appearance on Loose Women, Langsford made a light-hearted comment about exes at family gatherings, saying it is 'selfish' for parents to refuse to attend events if an ex-partner is present.
