A man charged with trespassing at NFL star Travis Kelce's multi-million dollar mansion in a bid to serve legal papers to Taylor Swift has agreed to enter a diversion programme, a move that could see the charge dropped.
The Incident at the Kansas Mansion
Justin Lee Fisher was arrested for criminal trespassing in the early hours of September 15 near Kelce's $6 million home in Leawood, Kansas. The incident occurred hours after Kelce played for the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, a game which Swift attended.
Fisher has now entered a diversion programme for one year and agreed to pay a $1,000 fee. If he successfully meets all the terms of this agreement over the next twelve months, the trespass charge is expected to be dismissed.
Connection to a Hollywood Legal Feud
According to court documents, Fisher stated he was attempting to serve a subpoena to Taylor Swift. The papers were related to the ongoing and bitter legal battle between actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, stemming from their film 'It Ends With Us'.
"I was attempting to serve a subpoena," Fisher said, explaining his company had been hired by an attorney to serve Swift. "I went to the address through the gate as it opened and attempted to speak to the security guards... I was never told to leave or even spoken to. Police arrived and arrested me."
His lawyer, Christopher Scott, emphasised Fisher was simply doing his job. "It was an unfortunate incident where Justin was acting on behalf of his employer," Scott said. "He was doing his job, and it just extended into the early hours. There was nothing nefarious about it at all."
Broader Celebrity Fallout and Legal Proceedings
The incident adds another layer to a complex celebrity drama. Swift, who was previously close friends with Lively, has reportedly been dragged into the legal feud. Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024, alleging sexual harassment and retaliation—claims he denies. Their trial is set for March 2026.
Swift and actor Ryan Reynolds were previously listed as potential witnesses by Lively's legal team. Elsewhere in the case, Baldoni has claimed that Swift and Reynolds pressured him into accepting one of Lively's script rewrites for the film.
The September trespass occurred on a notable day for Swift and Kelce. After Kelce's Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, Swift had attempted to avoid the intense public attention that has followed her this season, with staff using a black screen to shield her entrance to the stadium.
