Victoria Beckham has publicly shrugged off the escalating rift with her eldest son, Brooklyn, after he blocked his entire immediate family on Instagram. The fashion designer, 51, was seen breezily preparing for a Christmas night out on Tuesday, seemingly unfazed by the online drama.
A Festive Focus Amidst Family Strife
While the family divisions appeared to reach a new low, Victoria turned her attention to her wardrobe. She shared a post with her followers debating between two dresses from her own #VBPSS26 collection for a festive dinner. The choices were a sleeveless black midi dress with a thigh-high split and a form-fitting blue satin gown with long sleeves.
She captioned the post: 'Absolutely loving these two dresses from my #VBPSS26 collection, just can’t decide which one to wear for dinner tonight…' This nonchalant display came just hours after it was revealed Brooklyn, 25, had taken the drastic step of blocking his family on the social media platform.
The Blocking Fallout and a Snubbed Wedding
It is understood the mass blocking was triggered after Victoria liked one of Brooklyn's cooking tutorial posts last week. Her public endorsement sparked a wave of comments from followers urging him to reconcile with his parents, which reportedly annoyed Brooklyn. In response, he blocked not only his parents David and Victoria but also his siblings: Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and 14-year-old Harper.
Harper, considered the most innocent party in the dispute, was blocked just three months after launching her own Instagram account. The snub extends beyond the immediate family; Brooklyn has also blocked close family friends Gordon and Tana Ramsay. Consequently, he will not attend the imminent wedding of the Ramsays' daughter, Holly, to Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty on December 27.
On Monday, Victoria was filmed in high spirits with her team, downing celebratory shots and joking during a Christmas dinner. She later posted unseen footage with the caption: 'It's a tough job being me, but someone's gotta do it!'
Separate Holidays and a Plea for Peace
The Instagram blockade is the most public sign of a communication breakdown that has lasted for months. Brooklyn will spend Christmas in the US with his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, 30, and her billionaire family. Nicola has also unfollowed the Beckhams. Meanwhile, David and Victoria will celebrate with their younger children at their £10 million Cotswolds home and their new £60 million Miami waterfront property.
A friend of the Peltz Beckhams stated the couple have asked the Beckhams to 'back off and leave them alone', calling the Instagram stories a 'media play'. In contrast, sources close to the Beckhams express devastation, saying: 'David and Victoria will never stop loving Brooklyn. They will always be here for him.'
The feud intensified when Brooklyn and Nicola did not attend any of David's 50th birthday celebrations in May, and Brooklyn failed to acknowledge his father's knighthood in November. Despite public olive branches from David and Cruz, the block suggests a state of complete estrangement as the holiday season begins.
