Steven Spielberg's latest sci-fi film, Disclosure Day, is already generating significant early critical buzz. The movie, set to be released in cinemas on 12 June, stars Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, and Colin Firth. Blunt plays a meteorologist who partners with O'Connor's whistleblower character to uncover a government conspiracy.
Within hours of the trailer's release, critics took to social media to praise the film. Gizmodo's Germain Lussier labelled it “Spielberg’s best film in 20 years”. IndieWire’s Jim Hemphill similarly commended it as “top-tier Spielberg”, while The Wrap’s Drew Taylor said: “I can’t remember the last time I loved a Spielberg movie as much as Disclosure Day”.
The film marks a return to form for the acclaimed director, who has not seen such unanimous praise since Minority Report in 2002. Early reactions highlight the film's suspenseful storytelling and strong performances, particularly from Blunt and O'Connor.
As anticipation builds, fans and critics alike are eager to see if the full film lives up to the trailer's promise. Disclosure Day is poised to be one of the summer's biggest releases.
