Coronation Street fans think social media post rules out murder victim

Coronation Street viewers believe a social media post may have ruled out one of the five potential murder victims in the upcoming whodunnit. The ITV soap has teased a murder mystery since February, with a flashforward showing five characters at risk: Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton and Jodie Ramsey. One is set to be killed off in April.

A post on the official MAMMA MIA! X and Instagram accounts featured Coronation Street cast members, including Jonathan Howard, who plays Carl Webster. The caption revealed that Howard was pictured with former co-star Sara Poyzer, who played Fiona Middleton. It stated that Poyzer would reprise her role as Fiona, with filming beginning soon and scenes airing later this summer.

Fans interpreted the post as evidence that Carl survives the murder, since Fiona's return is scheduled for summer. However, the post is not confirmed by Coronation Street, and it remains possible that Fiona's return could happen regardless of Carl's fate. One fan commented: 'Dodgy Fiona making a comeback then?!' Another said the post 'basically says that Jonathan Howard is still filming (meaning Carl survives post April 23rd).'
