Elle Season 2 Details: Plot, Timeline, and New Cast Revealed
Elle Season 2: Plot, Timeline, and New Cast Revealed

Prime Video's Legally Blonde prequel series Elle has arrived, and fans will be pleased to know that a second season has already been filmed. The eight-part series, set in 1995, introduces viewers to a young Elle Woods navigating high school, long before her Harvard Law School days. Lexi Minetree steps into the iconic role, personally selected by Reese Witherspoon, who originally played Elle in the 2001 film.

Season 2 Filming and New Cast Member

Filming for Season 2 has already wrapped, according to Jacob Moskovitz, who plays Miles. He revealed to ScreenRant earlier this month: "We just finished filming. I can tell you that we have a wonderful castmate joining us, which is public information. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is amazing to work with. I'm really excited for everyone to see her performance and what she brings to the world." June Diane Raphael, who plays Elle's mother, expressed her belief that the second series is "even better" than the first, adding: "It's just more, and everybody's so locked in that I think it's even better."

Timeline and Plot Details

Showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed the series' place within the Legally Blonde timeline. She disclosed that Season 2 picks up directly after the events of the first season and its significant cliffhanger. "We get to explore Elle continuing to be a fish out of water, finding new dynamics as her world opens up, and we explore crises going on in greater Seattle," Caroline confirmed. Given there is roughly six years between Elle Season 1 and the original film, there is ample time to delve deeper into Elle's backstory, though no word on a potential Season 3 yet.

Fan Reactions to Season 1

Fans have shared mixed reactions to the debut series. One viewer wrote: "Maybe I'm just the right audience for it, being an older Gen Z woman and all, but I loved it, lmfao." Another commented: "How did they think they could have Legally Blonde before she got into law? It is half of the movie's name." Yet another added: "I'm actually really enjoying it! much more than I thought I would. I think it's doing exactly what it set out to do. And the lead actress is perfect, she's so cute and plays Elle perfectly." However, some were less impressed: "Like, what's the point of a prequel... Elle's major character development and journey happens in Legally Blonde so before that it's just... rich kids doin' stuff? I don't get it."

Elle Season 1 is now streaming on Prime Video.
