Jenny Powell showcased her stunning physique in a black bikini on Instagram on Tuesday, only to be left red-faced when her trousers were swept away by the sea. The 58-year-old TV presenter looked sensational in a halterneck bikini top and matching bottoms as she enjoyed a sun-soaked beach day during a getaway in Porto.
An Unfortunate Blunder
As Jenny went for a dip in the ocean, she suffered an epic mistake: her trousers, left on a nearby rock, were carried away by the tide. Posing for photos in her swimwear, she wrote: 'A little pause in Porto! Exactly what I needed,' before joking, 'At this point I hadn't realised that my trousers had been washed away into the Atlantic.'
Jenny later addressed the mishap, revealing she was forced to take an Uber without trousers. She explained: 'I went out there to have a quick dip and I put my trousers on that rock and the tide came in and now I've got no pants to go home. So I've now got to get an Uber in Porto with no trousers on.'
In a second video back at her hotel, she added: 'B***** h***, that poor Uber driver, I can't wait to put some pants on. All my mates are saying, "It could only happen to you Jenny." Somewhere in the Atlantic are a lovely pair of beautiful pants.'
Previous Appearances and Personal Life
Earlier this year, Jenny made a rare appearance with her fiancé Martin Lowe as they celebrated New Year's Eve at Soho House in Manchester. The couple marked their 12th year of engagement, with Martin having proposed on New Year's Eve in 2014. Jenny has previously stated they have no plans to marry and will likely remain 'permanently engaged.'
Jenny has two daughters, Constance (24) and Pollyanna (16), from her previous relationship with entrepreneur Toby Baxendale. Last year, she revealed that Constance had been hospitalised for surgery, reflecting on her own hysterectomy a year prior.
Health Advocacy
Jenny underwent a robotic hysterectomy 12 months ago to manage severe menopause symptoms. She has been open about her health journey, often displaying her surgical scars to raise awareness. She shared a poignant post: 'Well what a freaky moment... one year to the day since my hysterectomy and by pure coincidence we are back in the same hospital with the same surgeon for my Connie this time.'
She continued: 'She's been beautifully brave, in for removal of a cyst and then Dr. El-Gizawy walks in... not seen him for exactly one year! He said that he recommends his patients follow my hysterectomy journey on here as it is a help and comfort for many. I teared up... so much to say and not sure where to start.'
Jenny urged women: 'Ladies .. don't turn a blind eye to your symptoms / act on it / be persistent with doctors, consultants / talk about it / share your experiences and if you're scared, unsure, remember you're not alone... we have all been there.'
She concluded: 'My life has changed considerably... but it has taken a year to feel complete physically and mentally. I feel so passionately for all the women and even partners of those women who have connected with me and @dramirygynae in the past 12 months... Our journey is a collective one and just to say my quality of life/ my zest for life as a womb free woman is pretty awesome. Don't give up on that thought!'
