Loose Women viewers have praised the show for its diversity after four black presenters joined the panel for the first time in the programme's 20-year history. The line-up included Charlene White, Judi Love, Kelle Bryan, and Brenda Edwards, sparking excitement among fans.
The panel was revealed during a segment with This Morning presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, where Charlene White discussed the day's debates. Viewers took to social media to express their delight, with one calling it 'history in the making' and another saying, 'Not one, but FOUR BLACK WOMEN on today's panel? We love to see it!'
The move comes after ITV faced criticism last October when only one non-white anchor appeared on the channel during an entire day. In response, ITV's director of television Kevin Lygo pledged to improve representation of minorities within 12 months, targeting soaps and dramas for change.
Fans have urged ITV to make the diverse line-up a regular feature, with one commenting, 'Four Black presenters on Loose Women, we love to see it. Hopefully it becomes the norm.' The show's producers have not yet commented on whether the all-black panel will become a permanent fixture.
