"White Lotus" star Aimee Lou Wood has addressed the "SNL" teeth controversy ahead of hosting the UK version of the show this weekend. In a teaser released on Wednesday, Wood confronts cast members who initially hide their mouths, leading to a humorous exchange about fake teeth and moustaches.
The controversy stems from an April 2024 "Saturday Night Live" sketch in which Sarah Sherman parodied Wood's character by wearing enlarged false teeth and making a gag about fluoride. Wood responded on Instagram Stories, calling the portrayal "mean and unfunny," but later accepted flowers from Sherman, who apologised publicly.
In the teaser, Wood walks onto the UK set and notices cast members covering their mouths. After they claim to be yawning, Wood asks if they have fake teeth. Cast member Ayoade Bamgboye reveals they are actually sporting "big, glorious moustaches" inspired by co-host Paddy Young. Wood then accepts a fake moustache from Al Nash, saying she must earn it.
Wood hosts "SNL UK" on May 2, marking her first appearance on the show since the incident. The teaser suggests a lighthearted resolution to the earlier tension.
