Noah Hawley's highly anticipated series Alien: Earth has finally premiered, receiving rave reviews. The first television series in the Alien franchise is set two years before the original film and follows a group of terminally ill children whose consciousnesses are transferred into adult synthetic bodies, forcing them to confront Earth's greatest threat.
UK viewers can watch Alien: Earth exclusively on Disney+. A subscription costs from £4.99 per month, with potential offers or free trials available. New episodes are released every Wednesday. The series is also available on FX and FX on Hulu in the US, but for the rest of the world, it's Disney+.
The official synopsis from Disney+ reads: "When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat." The series is set in 2120, where five corporations wield the power of nations.
Star Sydney Chandler, who plays Wendy, the oldest child and first 'hybrid', told RadioTimes.com: "Kids are, like, the most human, the most innocent, the most raw and real entity of humanity. And so to throw that into the world of Alien, where you're dealing with not only aliens, but questions of morality, questions of consciousness... it adds a very eerie and powerful factor."
All previous Alien films are also available on Disney+ for those wanting to catch up. For more TV recommendations, visit the Radio Times guide or download the What to Watch app.
