Bobby Norris Reveals Severe Insomnia Following Extensive Cosmetic Surgery
Reality television personality Bobby Norris has publicly disclosed his ongoing struggle with insomnia after undergoing multiple cosmetic surgery procedures on his face and neck. The 39-year-old former star of The Only Way Is Essex has shared distressing updates about his painful recovery process, which has left his face extremely swollen and bruised.
Painful Recovery and Sleepless Nights
In a recent Instagram post shared on Friday, Norris displayed his dramatically swollen and bruised facial appearance while describing his inability to sleep. "So it's another night of not being able to sleep," he explained to his followers. "I don't know why the last couple of nights I have struggled so much. I'm up early doors for the hospital, I'm going to see my surgeon."
The television personality detailed how he had taken pain relief medication but still found himself unable to achieve proper rest. "I've been able to close my eyes and grab an hour here and there," he added, expressing frustration with his disrupted sleep patterns following the surgical procedures.
Fan Concern and Emotional Responses
Norris's followers have expressed significant concern about his condition, with many leaving emotional comments on his social media posts. One fan wrote, "So worried :( I hope Bobby realises he is beautiful and just stops," while another commented, "Bobby I really hope this is an older video as you still look in so much pain."
Additional responses included heartfelt pleas such as "PLEASE STOP! This is heartbreaking, you were beautiful. Please stop" and "Why put yourself through this, makes me feel so sad for you." The overwhelming sentiment from his fanbase reflects deep concern about the extent of his cosmetic procedures and their visible impact on his wellbeing.
Surgical Procedures and Recovery Challenges
Norris underwent multiple surgical enhancements including a face lift, neck lift, and lower blepharoplasty, which addresses the skin under the eyes. This follows previous procedures in 2024 when he had an Upper Blepharoplasty performed. The reality star humorously acknowledged his appearance during recovery, joking about his reflection, "We're not getting the Vogue cover this month."
In his Instagram caption, Norris explained the connection between surgery and sleep disruption: "Insomnia and Chinese.. Does anyone else really struggle to sleep after they've had surgery?? The anesthesia can really mess up your body clock for a few days. The first week was so up and down, but thankfully I'm back to my 'usual' (insomniac) sleeping pattern."
History of Cosmetic Treatments
Norris has undergone numerous cosmetic procedures over the years, including buccal fat removal from his cheeks, liposuction under his chin, and 360 body liposuction. He previously admitted to "falling down the rabbit hole of having fillers" after being offered free treatments during his time on TOWIE, which he joined in 2012.
Last year, Norris spoke candidly about realizing he had gone "too far" with cosmetic enhancements, stating, "Sometimes you aren't aware of how you look until you see certain pictures or a paparazzi shot. I don't look like me anymore." In 2024, he was forced to address speculation about gender reassignment surgery after his multiple cosmetic treatments significantly transformed his appearance.
Expert Perspective on Cosmetic Procedures
Cosmetic surgery expert Dr. Mo Hamed, who specializes in natural aesthetics, previously commented on Norris's transformation. "When Bobby started on TOWIE, he was very baby faced, given his young age, with minimal to no treatments," Dr. Hamed explained. "Throughout the years, he's had multiple cosmetic procedures including Botox, jawline filler, and cheek filler but now Bobby has taken his adjustments to the next level by undergoing surgical, non-reversible enhancements."
The expert specifically addressed the buccal fat removal procedure Norris underwent, noting, "He has recently spoken about having his buccal fat removed, which is where a surgeon takes the fat between your cheek bones and your jawline to give the client a more contoured and sunken in model appearance and chiselled jawline. But the longterm impact of losing your buckle fat pad can be disastrous because it can help to give the face a more youthful look as you get older."
Norris's journey through cosmetic enhancements continues to draw attention as he navigates the challenging recovery process while maintaining his public presence through social media updates about his health and wellbeing.
