Jade Bird, a 33-year-old single mother from Abergele, North Wales, was awaiting her flight home at the airport when she suddenly developed a severe headache, leading to her immediate hospitalisation.

Medical scans revealed a serious infection on Jade's brain, diagnosed as meningitis, which necessitated placing her in a medically induced coma. Her condition has since deteriorated, leaving her family devastated. Her sister-in-law, Victoria Bird, and mother, Janine, flew out to Tenerife and have maintained a constant vigil at her hospital bedside, describing the sight as "heart-breaking."

Victoria expressed the anguish of potentially having to return to the UK without Jade due to limited funds, stating, "How do we fly home without her? The thought of it is heart-breaking for us." Victoria appealed for support, saying, "If you are able to help I thank you from the bottom of my heart. We just need her home, we can't leave her here but we can't stay here forever ourselves."
