Tammin Sursok, the renowned actress from Home and Away, has publicly disclosed a distressing health issue that has affected her for the past twelve months. The 42-year-old celebrity took to Instagram on Friday to provide her followers with a candid update on her well-being, expressing a deep need to address her gut health.
Chronic Symptoms and Medical Diagnosis
In a heartfelt video message, Sursok explained that she has been experiencing persistent symptoms, including chronic throat clearing, burning sensations akin to heartburn, and nausea, all triggered by specific foods. "So about a year ago, I was having this chronic clearing my throat issue and then, after certain foods, I would get this burning sensation like heartburn and then nausea and all these things," she revealed. Following a medical consultation, doctors suspect she has gastritis, an inflammation of the stomach lining, and have recommended an endoscopy for further evaluation.
Sursok expressed surprise at this diagnosis, noting her diligent health habits. "[It's] so bananas because I really take care of myself – don't drink alcohol and all these things. And I know that anyone can get gastritis so it's not just based on that," she added. She emphasized the importance of internal healing, stating, "I really think that I have to start healing my insides. And I think a lot of what we put in our bodies has all this extra stuff that we don't know what's going on." She concluded her post by asking followers for advice on managing gastritis.

In May, she shared a shocking video on Instagram showing her ankle swollen to nearly three times its normal size after being bitten seven times by fire ants. "In another episode of Tammin is allergic to bugs and insects, the ant bite situation has been gnarly... I stepped on an ant nest. Got bitten by seven," she recounted. The reaction included painful blisters and significant swelling, though she later reported that the swelling had subsided.
Additionally, earlier in the year, Sursok visited her doctor after a spider bite, where an unexpected finding was made, though she did not disclose specifics. "Found out some news at the doctor that was unexpected. Thinking positively but please keep me in your good thoughts," she posted alongside a selfie, highlighting ongoing health concerns.
