Frankie Grande, the elder brother of global pop sensation Ariana Grande, has provided a detailed health update to his fans after undergoing a significant medical procedure.
A Planned Procedure for Long-Standing Pain
The 42-year-old entertainer and Big Brother alumnus took to Instagram on Monday to share a selfie from his hospital bed. He revealed he had just undergone a planned cervical spine surgery during the holiday week.
Frankie explained the operation was necessary to address persistent issues, stating it was intended "to relieve pressure on nerves in my neck that have been causing pain and neurological symptoms for a while." He expressed immense relief that the surgery proceeded flawlessly, praising his medical team for their "very precise work" and noting the absence of any unexpected complications.
The Road to Recovery: Rest and Rehabilitation
In his candid post, Frankie outlined the specifics of the operation and his forthcoming recovery plan. "They removed bone and tissue that were compressing the nerves, giving my spinal cord, disks, and radiating nerves the space it needs to heal and function properly," he wrote.
He now faces a focused period of recuperation. "Now comes 4 weeks of healing, rest, physical therapy, and being nicer to my body than I usually am," Frankie shared. Despite feeling sore and tired, he described himself as safe, relieved, and already hopeful for the future.
The surgery marks a critical step for the Broadway performer, known for roles in productions like Mamma Mia! and Rock of Ages. He emphasised that the procedure was "a necessary step so I can get back on my feet, back on stage, and back to living fully without pain running the show."
An Outpouring of Support from Fans and Friends
Frankie, who hails from New York City, made sure to thank his 2.2 million Instagram followers for their love and support, which he said were "truly felt and deeply appreciated." His update prompted a flood of well-wishes from both fans and famous friends.
Legendary singer Gloria Estefan sent "love and healing energy," while songwriter Imogen Heap expressed relief that the surgery went well. Other messages came from Big Brother star Rachel Reilly and writer Tracy Gilchrist, who complimented Frankie on looking great post-operation.
Frankie concluded his message on an optimistic note, promising to return "stronger, steadier, and standing tall." With his spouse Hale Leon Grande by his side, he is now dedicating the next month entirely to his recovery journey.
