Danniella Westbrook, the former EastEnders actress, has unveiled her dramatically new look after undergoing a series of major reconstructive surgeries earlier this year. The star, best known for playing Sam Mitchell in the long-running BBC soap, underwent procedures including a full face lift, neck lift, brow lift, and lip and nose reconstruction in Dubai during February 2026.
Extensive Surgical Journey
Westbrook's decision to have surgery was driven by a need to rebuild her face following years of severe drug abuse, which had caused significant damage. Her surgeries, performed by Dr Parviz Sadigh in Dubai, were aimed at addressing both aesthetic and functional issues resulting from her past addiction.
In February, she was seen leaving the clinic in a wheelchair while wearing facial compression garments, later praising the doctor for "working miracles" on her appearance. The star has since been photographed in London's Bond Street, showcasing her healed results while dressed in a stylish all-black outfit with a fitted denim jacket and carrying designer bags from Fortnum & Mason and Marc Jacobs.
Past Health Struggles and Ongoing Procedures
This recent round of surgeries follows a nose operation in June 2025, which was necessary after cocaine addiction destroyed her septum. Westbrook has been open about her health battles, including a severe bout of osteoporosis in 2015 that weakened her bones and left her with screws for teeth.
In a 2018 interview, she revealed the complexities of her condition, stating, "They need to take a piece of bone out of my skull and put a plate into my face, but they’ve got nothing to stick the plate on at the minute because the bone’s not strong enough." She also described painful dental procedures that exacerbated her suffering.
Emotional Toll and Future Plans
Westbrook has spoken candidly about the emotional impact of her appearance, citing relentless trolling and cruel messages from online critics. She shared, "I hate the way I look. I’m constantly made fun of, and trolled for it. People message me, saying: 'You’re so ugly, you’re a junkie, you should just go and kill yourself.'"
Despite the progress, the actress has indicated that her surgical journey is not over. She posted on social media in 2025, expressing relief after doctors cleared her for the next stage of recovery despite an infection setback. More recently, she mentioned needing three additional nose operations, though she noted that the facelift has already restored her confidence.
Westbrook's story highlights the long-term consequences of drug addiction and the transformative power of modern reconstructive surgery, as she continues to navigate her path toward physical and emotional healing.
