Seann Walsh's Cringe-Worthy Mistake on I'm A Celebrity South Africa's Most Terrifying Trial
In a hilarious yet mortifying moment, comedian Seann Walsh was roasted for a blunder during the scariest trial yet on Tuesday's episode of I'm A Celebrity... South Africa. The upcoming instalment of the ITV spin-off, which premiered earlier this month, features Walsh taking part in the daunting Cut Throat Cliff challenge alongside fellow celebrities Beverley Callard, Sinitta, and Mo Farah.
The Nerve-Wracking Challenge Setup
The awesome foursome were left speechless when they arrived at the Bushtucker Trial location, where presenters Ant and Dec stood ominously above a high cliff. From the start, tensions ran high as Seann confessed, 'I don't like the look of this.' The celebrities were informed that to successfully complete the challenge, they had to lean over the cliff edge with only a rope holding them up, all while answering general knowledge questions suspended in the air.
Not only that, but they also had to buzz in to answer questions. If correct, they could choose an opponent to cut one of their ropes; if incorrect, they had to cut their own rope, leading to an inevitable fall to the ground. In a sneak peek at tonight's show, Seann is seen cutting one of his own ropes, exclaiming, 'Oh no, mummy no.' Ant urged him, 'Seann, you've got to be quick on that buzzer,' to which he replied, 'I know, I know.'
The Infamous Lyric Blunder
Dec then posed question 15: 'Finish the lyrics to the 1982 song by Toto, "I bless the rain down in..."' Seann quickly pressed his buzzer and shouted, 'Spain!' The Geordie presenters couldn't contain their laughter, trying to hide their reaction behind their cards. Seann defended himself, saying, 'I don't know! It rhymes!' Ant shouted back, 'What?!' while Dec corrected him, 'Africa!'
When Ant asked, 'Where are we Seann?' he retorted, 'What's that got to do with anything! I just thought it rhymed with rain!' Dec explained, 'I bless the rain down in Africa was the 1982 song by Toto. You have to cut your own rope.' As he cut his rope, Seann muttered, 'I don't believe this.'
Camp Reactions and Aftermath
Upon returning to camp, Beverley recounted the incident to the rest of her team, leaving them in hysterics. She said, 'Well, we got there, and we had to stand on this slope, and lean back, and then they gave us general knowledge questions. You know, the Toto song The Rain in Africa? They sang the first bit, Ant and Dec, they said the lyrics, and they said the rain in, you know, they did the lyrics, Seann went: Spain.' Newcomer Jimmy Bullard burst into laughter at the tale.
I'm A Celebrity... South Africa continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX, promising more thrilling trials and comedic moments as the celebrities battle it out in the South African wilderness.
