Royal Mail has warned residents across several UK postcodes to brace for delivery disruptions today, as the postal service grapples with local operational challenges. In a service update, the company confirmed that while its air and road networks continue to function normally, two postal offices are currently experiencing delays.
Affected Areas and Postcodes
The delays are specifically affecting the Deal Delivery Office (CT14) and Grimsby Delivery Office (DN31-DN37). Additionally, the Cardiff Mail Centre has acknowledged that not all mail was processed and dispatched on time over the past 24 hours. This means that mail posted yesterday in the CF, LD, and NP postcode areas destined for other parts of the UK may face delays.
Royal Mail's Statement
In a statement on its website, Royal Mail said: "We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors." The company added that in such cases, it will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers and provide targeted support to those offices to restore service to the high standard customers would normally receive.
Royal Mail continues to monitor the situation and advises customers to check for updates on its website. The affected postcodes are urged to expect possible delays in receiving mail today.
