A third British national has been diagnosed with suspected hantavirus linked to a cruise ship outbreak, health officials have confirmed.
UK Health Security Agency Statement
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) reported that two British nationals have confirmed hantavirus, but there is now an additional suspected case involving a British national on Tristan da Cunha. This patient remains on the remote South Atlantic island.
Hospitalizations Abroad
The other two British nationals remain hospitalized in the Netherlands and South Africa, respectively. The outbreak is linked to a cruise ship, though further details about the vessel have not been disclosed.
Health authorities are monitoring the situation closely and have urged passengers who may have been exposed to seek medical advice if symptoms develop.
