Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson have been left off the guest list for Peter Phillips's wedding to NHS nurse Harriet Sperling, according to reports. The couple will marry on June 6 in Cirencester, with senior royals including King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales expected to attend.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said the decision to exclude the Duke of York and the Duchess of Sussex was to avoid drawing attention away from the bride. “That’s undoubtedly what would happen if Harry, with or without Meghan, came to Peter and Harriet’s wedding,” she told the Mirror.
Prince Harry has reportedly not been invited to his cousin's wedding, with Bond suggesting the ongoing rift with his father and brother has had repercussions throughout the family. “It’s clear that the rift between Harry and his father and brother has had repercussions throughout the whole family,” she said.
Bond added that Peter Phillips has remained loyal to the Prince of Wales during the feud, and Harry is likely to be excluded from major family events until the rift is resolved. “Peter is a very dependable, jovial guy... but I think his loyalty now lies with William,” she said.
