Reuben Owen Rules Out Big City Move with Girlfriend Jess
Reuben Owen: No City Move with Jess

Reuben Owen, the television personality who rose to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm, has firmly ruled out any possibility of a 'big move' with his girlfriend Jess Ellwood. The couple, both aged 22, have made it abundantly clear that they have no intention of abandoning rural life for the hustle and bustle of a city.

How the Romance Began

The young couple's romance began at a Young Farmers' convention in 2024, before they publicly confirmed their relationship that November. They have now reached a significant milestone, having officially set up home together at Jess's family farm in Brough Castle, Cumbria. Reuben, who was raised nearby in Swaledale, is thrilled to be settled there.

Emphatic Answer on Chat Show

When hosts Storm Huntley and Alexis Conran quizzed the couple on their Channel 5 chat show Storm & Alexis about whether they would ever swap country living for urban life, the answer was emphatic. Alexis asked: 'Should I even bother asking you two? Are there any times perhaps you're doing your farming and thinking 'God I wish I was in a big town instead of out here'.'

Reuben swiftly dismissed any notion of leaving rural life behind, responding: 'Personally, no. I've always grown up in the countryside.' In a touching declaration, he looked at girlfriend Jess and said: 'And working with you, being in the countryside, and spending time together. There is no place I'd rather be, but I'd go anywhere with you.'

Storm Huntley enquired: 'So there isn't going to be a big move for you to come to London, become city slickers anytime.' Reuben responded: 'No, I don't think so.'

Moving In Together

In conversation with the Mirror regarding his move in with Jess, Reuben explained: 'I used to come down at night to see Jess, and I just wouldn't want to leave her. And then you stay another night, and another.' He continued: 'It started with a toothbrush, and now my pants are in the washing machine, and my dinner is on the table. Now I'm all in. We're loving our time together; it just gets better and better. It's brilliant being with Jess' family too, they're such a lovely bunch.'

Reuben remarked about Jess' relatives: 'They've taken me in and welcomed me with open arms. It's nice to be able to spend all my time with Jess.'

Jess shared: 'He was there all the time anyway; it just made sense. It's so lovely living together, really special. We do go out for the odd meal for a date night, and we went on holiday together to Cyprus last year. But, mainly - when we're not working - you'll find us cosying up with fish and chips or a Chinese takeaway.'

Storm & Alexis airs weekdays on Channel 5 from 11:30am.
