Strictly Come Dancing has officially announced its professional dancer line-up for the upcoming 2026 series, promising viewers a mix of familiar faces and exciting new talent. This confirmation follows a significant cast shake-up earlier this year, which saw five beloved dancers depart the BBC show.
New and Returning Professionals
The BBC confirmed on Wednesday, 6 May, which stars will be returning to the dance floor in autumn 2026. Among the long-standing professionals set to return are Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Johannes Radebe, and Aljaž Škorjanec. Joining them will be Nikita Kuzmin, Jowita Przystał, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola, and reigning champion Carlos Gu. Additionally, last year's newcomers Julian Caillon and Alexis Warr have been confirmed to return for another series.
Cast Cull Earlier This Year
The announcement comes after a major cast cull that saw five stars axed from the show earlier this year. Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Karen Hauer, Gorka Marquez, and Michelle Tsiakkas all left the series, making way for a refreshed line-up. The departure of these well-known dancers marked a significant change for the popular BBC programme.
More details about the new series, including celebrity contestants and air dates, are expected to be revealed in the coming months. Fans can look forward to another season of glittering performances and intense competition when Strictly returns later this year.
