Bayern Munich produced a stunning second-half comeback to defeat Mainz 05 4-3 away, overturning a three-goal deficit with substitutes Harry Kane and Michael Olise leading the charge. The Bundesliga champions had made eight changes from the side that beat Bayer Leverkusen in the German Cup semi-final, and they paid the price in a lacklustre first half as Dominik Kohr, Paul Nebel and Sheraldo Becker scored for the hosts. Bayern failed to register a single shot on target before the break.
Second-Half Revival
Coach Vincent Kompany introduced Kane and Olise after the interval, and the tactical switch paid immediate dividends. Nicolas Jackson pulled one back in the 53rd minute, and Olise added a second 20 minutes later. Jamal Musiala equalised in the 80th minute, and Kane completed the turnaround three minutes later, scoring his 33rd Bundesliga goal of the season. The victory extended Bayern's winning run to nine matches across all competitions.
PSG Maintain Ligue 1 Dominance
Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern's Champions League semi-final opponents, moved closer to the Ligue 1 title with a 3-0 win at Angers. First-half goals from Lee Kang-in and Senny Mayulu, followed by Lucas Beraldo's strike after the break, gave PSG a six-point lead at the top. However, Achraf Hakimi was substituted at half-time with an injury, and Gonçalo Ramos was sent off after receiving a second yellow card in the 74th minute. Lyon kept their Champions League hopes alive with a 3-2 win over Auxerre, moving to 57 points, three ahead of fourth-placed Lille. Monaco's chances suffered a blow as they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 at Toulouse.
Barcelona March On
Barcelona continued their impressive run in La Liga, securing a ninth consecutive league victory with a 2-0 win at Getafe. Fermín López opened the scoring just before half-time, finishing a Pedri through ball with a clinical strike. Marcus Rashford sealed the win in the 74th minute, collecting the ball on the halfway line and driving forward before slotting home from the edge of the box. The result moved Barcelona to 85 points, 11 ahead of second-placed Real Madrid, who drew 1-1 with Real Betis on Friday.
Atletico Survive Scare
Atletico Madrid staged a comeback of their own before holding on to beat Athletic Club 3-2. Aitor Paredes gave the visitors the lead, but second-half goals from Antoine Griezmann and Alexander Sørloth turned the game around. Sørloth appeared to make it safe with his second in stoppage time, but Gorka Guruzeta scored in the 97th minute to set up a tense finish. Atletico held on to strengthen their grip on the final Champions League qualification spot, though the nervy performance was far from ideal preparation for their semi-final first leg against Arsenal.
In Serie A, Verona were denied a stoppage-time winner against Lecce after VAR ruled out the goal. The 0-0 draw moved Lecce out of the relegation zone by a point, while Verona remain 10 points from safety. Roma won 2-0 at Bologna with goals from Donyell Malen and Neil El Aynaoui, moving within two points of the final Champions League place held by Juventus.
