Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reportedly given advice to RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, who has been linked with a summer move to Anfield. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international has enjoyed a breakout season in the Bundesliga, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in 33 appearances, attracting attention from top clubs across Europe.
Klopp's Message to Diomande
In an interview with Bild, Diomande revealed that Klopp, now Head of Global Football at Red Bull, has offered him guidance. "He tells me to stay humble and keep working hard," Diomande said. "It was always my dream to play on one of his teams. That's not quite possible now, but being so close to him now, talking to him, shaking his hand, it's incredible. He's a legend."
Liverpool's Transfer Plans
Liverpool are expected to strengthen their attacking options this summer, with club legend Mohamed Salah set to leave at the end of the season. Diomande has been valued at around £87 million and has previously expressed admiration for the Reds, though he has since clarified his comments. "People made it out to be my dream club, but first and foremost, it's my dad's favourite club," he told Bild. "It was always his great wish to see me play there someday because he loves the atmosphere at Anfield."
Hamann Advocates Double Swoop
Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has urged the club to sign both Diomande and Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon. "Signing Diomande and Anthony Gordon would be a dream summer for Liverpool, but they've got to be careful," Hamann told NewBettingOffers. "If they get these two players and they stay injury-free, I think they're sorted for the next few years."
Diomande's immediate focus remains on finishing the season strongly with RB Leipzig, who sit third in the Bundesliga and are close to securing Champions League qualification with three games remaining.
