Multiple protestors breached security, brandishing flags as they ran onto the playing surface. Stewards swiftly apprehended them and removed them from the pitch, allowing play to resume shortly after.
City had taken an early lead through Erling Haaland in the 11th minute, following a through ball from Jeremy Doku. Rayan Cherki doubled the advantage before half-time with a clinical finish from inside the penalty area after more impressive work from Doku.
Play was later stopped again due to a clash of heads between City substitute Tijjani Reijnders and Galatasaray defender Davinson Sanchez. The match finished 2-0 after a goalless second half.
The victory ensured City finished eighth in the Champions League group stage, securing a bye in the play-off round and automatic qualification for the last 16.
