Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil a new roller coaster in 2026 that has already shattered six world records, promising an adrenaline-pumping experience for thrill-seekers. The ride, named Tormenta Rampaging Run, will be the centerpiece of a newly designed Spanish-themed area called Rancho de la Tormenta at the Arlington, Texas park.
Record-Breaking Specifications
According to official details released by Six Flags, the coaster will ascend to a peak of 309 feet before plunging riders down a 285-foot drop at a staggering 95-degree angle, tilting beyond a standard vertical descent. The ride is engineered to reach a top speed of 87 miles per hour across 4,199 feet of track. It will also feature a 218-foot Immelmann inversion—a maneuver that flips riders upside down while reversing direction—and a 179-foot vertical loop, both expected to set industry records.
World Records Claimed
The park has confirmed that Tormenta Rampaging Run has already broken six world records, including titles for the tallest, fastest, and longest dive coaster, as well as the highest drop with an inversion. To board, guests must meet a minimum height requirement of 48 inches (4 feet) and a maximum of 76 inches (6 feet 3 inches).
Themed Plaza and Design
The ride anchors the new Rancho de la Tormenta plaza, which will feature regional music and banners to immerse visitors in a Spanish-themed atmosphere. The open-air coaster trains are styled to evoke traditional attire worn during the Running of the Bulls, adding to the cultural theme.
Industry Context
The announcement comes as amusement parks across the United States invest heavily in record-breaking attractions to draw visitors. Major competitors, such as Universal Studios Hollywood, are also launching new rides, including a drifting coaster based on the Fast & Furious film franchise. Six Flags has not yet specified an exact opening date for Tormenta Rampaging Run, stating only that it will debut later in 2026.
