Guardian Seeks Stories from World Cup 2026 Host Cities

The Guardian is calling on residents of the 16 host cities for the 2026 World Cup to share their experiences during the tournament. The event, which kicked off with Mexico versus South Africa, features 48 teams playing 104 matches across 39 days in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

As part of its 'My World Cup' series, the publication wants to capture the mood in each city, from the buzz and business impact to feelings of excitement, exhaustion, or apathy. Submissions are welcome from fans, casual observers, business owners, and those trying to avoid the action.

Contributors are also encouraged to send short videos during the tournament. The host cities include Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Toronto, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Atlanta, Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, and New York/New Jersey.
