Vanessa Trump's Alleged Concerns About Tiger Woods Preceded His Recent Arrest
Vanessa Trump is claimed to have raised significant concerns about Tiger Woods in the weeks leading up to the golf legend's involvement in a two-vehicle crash and subsequent arrest. According to reports, Woods' behaviour began to alarm his partner, Vanessa Trump, prior to the incident that resulted in legal charges.
The Incident and Arrest Details
On Friday, Tiger Woods was arrested and taken to a police station in Florida, where he faced two misdemeanour offences: driving under the influence and refusing to provide a urine sample. The incident occurred at approximately 2 pm ET (7pm GMT) near his Jupiter, Florida home.
Woods was travelling northbound along a two-lane road in a Range Rover when a pickup truck towing a pressure cleaner trailer attempted to slow down and turn into a driveway. Local sheriff John Budensiek stated that Woods was driving at excessive speed, which prevented the pickup truck driver from fully clearing the road.
In a last-second overtaking manoeuvre, the 15-time major champion collided with the trailer, causing his vehicle to roll onto its side. Following the collision, Woods reportedly climbed out through the passenger door of his vehicle. Remarkably, no injuries were sustained by anyone involved in the incident. Woods was held in custody for a mandatory eight hours.
Vanessa Trump's Reported Worries
In the weeks before this incident, Woods' personal life had been thrust back into the spotlight. The 50-year-old golfer and Vanessa Trump confirmed their romance a year ago, with their respective families growing closer in recent months.
According to a source who spoke to the National Enquirer, Vanessa became increasingly troubled by Woods' behaviour whenever she was absent. "She's insecure when it comes to him and other women," the source claimed.
"So Vanessa follows Tiger everywhere and checks up on him and what he's up to through mutual friends when they're not together. Tiger's feeling henpecked and stifled."
The source added: "He wants Vanessa to trust him and not judge him on prior behaviour. But the more serious they get, the more fearful she becomes that Tiger will slide into bad habits and self-sabotage."
Historical Context: The 2009 Incident
This is not the first time Tiger Woods has been involved in a car accident with personal relationship implications. In 2009, Woods was involved in another car crash that was partly triggered by a row with his then-wife, Elin Nordegren.
That same year, Woods became embroiled in an infamous infidelity scandal with Rachel Uchitel, whom he met through a mutual contact and former Yankees player Derek Jeter. The pair's secret relationship was ultimately revealed when the National Enquirer published photographs of them checking into the same hotel during the Australian Masters.
Following publication of the story, Nordegren went through her husband's phone and discovered a text message sent to Uchitel that read: "You are the only one I've ever loved."
After being woken in the early hours by his wife, Woods fled to the bathroom and messaged Uchitel that he needed to leave. He was then chased out of his Windermere, Florida property by Nordegren, who was brandishing one of his golf clubs.
Attempting to flee the scene in his Cadillac Escalade SUV, Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. The collision left him unconscious for six minutes while Nordegren smashed the rear windows of the vehicle to pull him free. Woods was swiftly rushed to a local hospital for treatment, escaping with only minor cuts to his face, and was later issued a citation for careless driving.
