Henderson Given Oxygen After Freak Fall in England Win

Jordan Henderson suffered a freak injury after England's 3-2 win over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium, with footage showing the midfielder being given oxygen and carried off on a stretcher. The Brentford star, an unused substitute, hurt himself while attempting to clear advertising hoardings to celebrate with teammates.

Incident Details

Henderson, 36, was seen in distress as medics rushed to his aid. The incident occurred as he tried to follow teammate Dan Burn over the hoardings, landing awkwardly on his wrist. Captain Harry Kane told the BBC: “Jordan Hendo just fell over there. I think he’s OK.” However, Jude Bellingham added that Henderson was “in a bit of bother” but praised the medical team for having “everything under control.”

Medical Response and Hospitalisation

BBC host Kelly Cates reported that Kane said Henderson was “absolutely fine” but confirmed the fall over the hoardings. “It looked like he was getting some oxygen as he was being stretchered off the pitch,” she said. Manager Thomas Tuchel gave an update after the match, stating: “Not good, not good. Jordan just fell over and injured his wrist. It looks really bad.” In his post-match press conference, Tuchel added: “He injured his wrist, he's gone to hospital. It's quite a serious injury. I don't know if there will be a procedure.”
