Reece James is expected to miss England's final training session before their World Cup Round of 16 clash against co-hosts Mexico, all but confirming the Chelsea star will not feature at the Azteca Stadium.
Injury Update
The right-back has been absent since the 0-0 draw with Ghana in Boston due to a hamstring strain. England manager Thomas Tuchel had shared optimism he might be able to prove his fitness in time to face Mexico — but that now appears a long shot.
According to The Times, James is not yet fit enough to join his team-mates, with the Mexico clash now just a little over 24 hours away.
Quansah's Return
It's hoped that Jarrel Quansah will be back on the grass with the group after rolling his ankle against Panama in New Jersey. Quansah started in place of James after the full-back's injury but then hobbled off himself. Both missed the 2-1 Round of 32 win over DR Congo in Atlanta.
England will train at the Pumas MX Cantera on Saturday in Mexico City ahead of their big World Cup Round of 16 tie against the co-hosts at the Azteca Stadium.
