Costeen Hatzi Reveals Australian Open's Hidden World After Kyrgios Split
Hatzi's insider view of Australian Open after Kyrgios split

Fashion influencer Costeen Hatzi has provided a rare insider's view of the Australian Open, describing a hidden world away from the public eye, as she attends the grand slam for the first time since her high-profile split from tennis star Nick Kyrgios.

The Private Ecosystem of a Grand Slam

Hatzi, who spent several years travelling the tour with Kyrgios after they began dating in 2021, explained that Melbourne Park operates like a self-contained universe for players and their inner circles. She revealed the existence of exclusive cafés, gyms, and restaurants that are shielded from the view of television cameras and the general public.

'It's like a completely different world to what people see on TV,' Hatzi told News Corp. 'You'll find them eating lunch together, socialising, laughing with each other, and then the next day they have to play with each other. It's quite different to any other sport.'

A New Chapter and On-Court Realities

The pair, who went public with their relationship in 2022, quietly parted ways last year. Hatzi confirmed the split in May, stating, 'We haven't spoken, relationships come to an end. I believe it's for the best.' This year's tournament marks a new, liberating chapter for her.

'I'm still going there with an excited and positive mindset,' she said. 'Despite what has happened between Nick and I, watching it is like a full-circle moment. I know what it's like to be behind the scenes, so this time I can really go and enjoy it for myself.' She confirmed she will be attending as a single woman, focusing on self-growth.

While Hatzi embraces this new phase, Kyrgios faces a different reality on court. Plagued by knee and wrist injuries since his 2022 Wimbledon final run, he has withdrawn from the singles competition at this year's Australian Open. He will instead compete in the doubles, stating, 'I'm fit and back on court, but five-setters are a different beast and I'm not quite ready to go the distance yet.'

Fashion, Friendships, and the Future

Hatzi's role this year shifts from player's partner to fashion ambassador, working with brands like Forever New and The Iconic. She highlighted the Open's evolution into a major style event, calling it 'the perfect mix between sports and Melbourne summer style.'

She also shed light on the unique social dynamics, where close friendships form quickly among players and their partners in the private areas. Through this world, she built lasting ties with figures like Paige Lorenze and Hannah Dal Sasso.

Reflecting on her future, Hatzi expressed a desire for more privacy, stating that any future relationship would likely be kept out of the public eye. For now, her focus remains firmly on herself and her career, as she experiences the Australian Open from a fresh, independent perspective.
