Man United Close to Signing Rashford Replacement as West Ham Deal Nears

Manchester United's hopes of signing a replacement for Marcus Rashford could be boosted if West Ham complete a deal of their own. Rashford's dream move to Barcelona has collapsed, leaving his future uncertain. Neither the player nor the club wish to extend their relationship, and another loan to Barcelona has been ruled out, so the England forward is expected to move again this summer.

United are targeting West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville, currently impressing for the Netherlands at the World Cup. The 24-year-old has scored two goals and provided an assist in his first two appearances off the bench. However, for the transfer to proceed, relegated West Ham must first find a replacement.

West Ham's Replacement Target

That need has moved closer after West Ham expressed interest in Brighton's Amario Cozier-Duberry. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, helping the Trotters gain promotion via the League One play-offs. A move to the Championship is the next step, and West Ham are leading the race for his signature, according to The Athletic.

If West Ham land Cozier-Duberry, it would facilitate United's move for Summerville, who would cost around £50 million. His value could rise if he continues to excel at the World Cup. There is no release clause in his West Ham contract.

Interest from Paris Saint-Germain

United face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who are also interested in Summerville. The European champions are expected to allow Bradley Barcola to leave, creating a need for a left-sided attacker.

Rashford's Situation

Rashford, 28, has been blocked from joining Manchester City or Liverpool, who have previously shown interest. Arsenal have cooled on signing him. Tottenham are interested, and Rashford is open to another European move. He would cost around £40 million, but his £325,000-per-week wages could be a bigger obstacle.

For now, Rashford is focused on forcing his way into England's starting lineup for the Group L finale against Panama. He came off the bench in the draw with Ghana.
