The Guardian has unveiled Feast, a new cooking and recipe app designed to banish boring meals with the help of artificial intelligence. Available now on iOS and Android worldwide, Feast offers thousands of tried-and-tested recipes from star cooks such as Yotam Ottolenghi, Nigella Lawson and Jamie Oliver.
The app features a 'Cook mode' that provides step-by-step instructions and prevents screens from locking, along with enhanced search by ingredient, cuisine or meal type. Users can filter recipes by dietary preferences, save favourites in a digital cookbook, and add personal notes. A recipe converter for metric and imperial measurements is available on iOS, coming soon to Android.
Feast builds on the Guardian's 100-year recipe heritage and is part of its growth strategy to create new products for readers. New subscribers can enjoy a 14-day free trial, followed by a monthly subscription of £2.99 (€2.99 in the EU, $3.99 in the US and Australia, $2.99 in Canada). Existing supporters receive a three-month free trial.
Guardian editor-in-chief Katharine Viner said: 'Feast is packed with thousands of recipes and useful features that make the app an innovative new way to enjoy the best of the Guardian’s recipe collection.' The app is updated daily with new recipes and collections for every season and occasion.
