24/7 Golf Training Centre Approved for Kilmarnock Industrial Unit
24/7 Golf Training Centre Approved in Kilmarnock

A golf training centre offering 24/7 access for members is set to open in the Glencairn area of Kilmarnock after a change-of-use proposal was approved. The facility, located at Block 1, Unit 2, 1 Bellsland Grove, will transform an industrial unit into a Class 11 (Assembly and Leisure) sports venue.

Approved Proposal and Applicant Details

Applicant Kenneth Beveridge of Twenty Fore Golf Studio Limited sought the change of use from Industrial to Class 11. The proposal was approved by the council, with papers stating: “The reuse of the building is considered to be a positive as this removes the need for an entirely new build development and the associated works.”

Facilities and Services

The centre will feature two indoor golf simulators that provide detailed ball flight data, swing analysis, and structured coaching sessions. It will be operated by a PGA professional coach, offering individual practice, professional coaching, structured player development, and winter training when outdoor conditions are unsuitable.

A statement on behalf of the applicant said: “The proposed development and facility is intended primarily as a sports training and coaching environment rather than a general entertainment venue.”

Membership and Operating Hours

The facility will operate mainly through an online booking system, with activity expected between 6am and 10pm. Membership will be capped at 50, with members enjoying 24/7 access. Non-members can pay as they use.

Benefits for Local Golfers

The supporting statement noted: “Golf is one of Scotland’s most widely played sports, and indoor training environments are increasingly important due to seasonal weather conditions. The proposed development will therefore provide a year-round training facility for golfers of all abilities, supporting participation in sport and improving access to coaching.”

The council added that the development aligns with public health and wellbeing objectives, providing a sports training facility consistent with indoor sports centres, gyms, and coaching academies.
