The eerie image, which some users have described as a 'demon face' or 'skull', has been attributed to pareidolia—the tendency to see familiar shapes in random patterns—combined with Google's satellite stitching artifacts. According to an Earth X account, cloudy areas in the imagery cause the software to mirror or flip sections to fill gaps, creating unnatural symmetrical patterns.
Parque Nacional Alberto de Agostini is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, home to diverse wildlife such as South American sea lions and southern elephant seals, as well as rich vegetation and glaciers.
