Britons are set to bask in a surge of warm weather, with temperatures potentially reaching 30C next week, according to the latest GFS weather model. The Met Office has confirmed that conditions will feel "very warm at times" as high pressure dominates the UK.
Bank Holiday Weekend Forecast
The Met Office predicts highs of 28C in southern areas on Friday, while northern regions could see 25C. High pressure is expected to bring "a good deal of fair, warm weather" for the extended bank holiday weekend. On Monday, the GFS model suggests temperatures could hit 27C in the south-east and 26C as far north as Yorkshire, with similar conditions possible in parts of the north-west.
Potential 30C Peak on Tuesday
By Tuesday, sizzling 30C highs are possible in London, with East Anglia and southern England reaching 26C around 6pm. Temperature anomaly maps show deep red across the UK on Monday, indicating temperatures well above the seasonal average. In total, 24 English counties are forecast to see 25C or more over Monday and Tuesday.

Met Office Outlook
The Met Office states that "high pressure is expected to broadly remain in place for much of the UK" next week, with "fine" conditions likely to continue. It adds: "There may be occasions where low pressure to the north may bring some brief spells of rain across northern parts, but in general fair weather will dominate. Temperatures are expected to be above normal, feeling very warm at times with light winds."
