Chelsea have agreed to sign former Brighton left wing-back Valentin Barco from Strasbourg, marking another transfer between the two BlueCo-owned clubs.
Deal Details
The Argentina international, 21, has excelled in Ligue 1 after joining Strasbourg from Brighton for £7.9m in January 2025. He is expected to sign a six-year contract with Chelsea. Barco, who has been playing as a midfielder, would become the second player to join Chelsea this summer, with striker Emanuel Emegha having already agreed a move.
BlueCo Transfers
This would be the 13th deal between the two BlueCo clubs since the start of last season. Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders is also under consideration to return to Stamford Bridge following a successful loan spell. Strasbourg are set to make a considerable profit on the Barco deal.
Player's Statement
Barco had declared his intention to leave earlier this week, saying: 'Today I say goodbye to this club. I always gave everything on the pitch in every game for this shirt.' He thanked teammates, coaches Liam Rosenior and Gary O'Neil, and the fans for their support.
