Legendary comedian Peter Kay is laughing all the way to the bank, with official documents revealing he has amassed a staggering property portfolio valued at an eye-watering £23 million.
A Property Portfolio Built on Success
According to filings with Companies House, the 52-year-old Bolton-born star is the director of an Oldham-registered firm named Hussein Traders, which holds property assets worth the multi-million pound sum. Kay is also a co-director of another company, Goodnight Vienna Productions.
Financial records indicate that the two businesses have together generated a combined profit of almost £2.6 million over the past year. A financial expert commented to The Sun on Kay's savvy investments, noting that his substantial portfolio places him among the ranks of top-earning movie stars and rock icons.
Charity and Comedy: Kay's Dual Focus
While his property wealth grows, Peter Kay's focus remains sharply on his record-breaking return to stand-up. He recently added nine extra dates to his 'Better Late Than Never' tour, which will now conclude at Manchester's AO Arena on 8 August next year.
In a heartfelt move, Kay has pledged that all proceeds from the monumental tour will be donated to a dozen different cancer charities. Speaking on BBC's The One Show before Christmas, he acknowledged the disease's widespread impact, stating, "everybody knows someone who's been affected". He added, "You don't even have to like me to come, it goes beyond that, this is about supporting these charities."
Phoenix Nights Stays Off Streaming Services
Despite his ongoing tour success, fans hoping to stream his classic sitcom Phoenix Nights will be disappointed. Kay revealed he turned down an offer from Netflix to license the show because the platform wanted to add a trigger warning.
He explained that the series, which follows the misadventures of club owner Brian Potter, was a product of its time and is "not very politically correct now". After declining the offer, Kay humorously noted that Netflix sent him an air fryer, seemingly "to sweeten" the deal.
Peter Kay's story is one of remarkable success, blending sharp business acumen with a continued commitment to his craft and charitable causes close to his heart.
