London ranks second with 1.93 cameras per square mile, followed by Hounslow, Tipton, and Dewsbury in the top five. Coventry secured the sixth position, with 243 cameras resulting in a density of 1.57 per square mile.
Record Motoring Offences
According to the Home Office, motoring offences in England and Wales, excluding London, reached a record 2.9 million in 2024. A significant 86 per cent of these recorded motoring incidents were attributed to speeding violations.
