Introducing Ask Maps for Personalised Suggestions
A key highlight of the redesign is the new "Ask Maps" feature, which uses AI to provide tailored recommendations based on user queries. For instance, it can suggest nearby electric vehicle charging stations or craft detailed multi-stop road trip itineraries. This functionality draws from an extensive database encompassing over 300 million places and user reviews, ensuring accurate and relevant results.
Initial availability for Ask Maps will be limited to mobile applications on iPhone and Android devices in the United States and India. Google has outlined plans to expand this feature to personal computers and additional countries in the near future, broadening its accessibility.
Immersive Navigation Offers 3D Driving Perspectives
Another major update is "Immersive Navigation," which provides a three-dimensional view of driving directions.
