Monzo is launching its own mobile network, Monzo Mobile, this summer with annual discounts for loyal customers. The waitlist opens today.
Monzo Mobile Plans
Monzo Mobile will offer several plans, including 10GB of UK data for £8 a month, 30GB of UK data plus 10GB of Europe roaming for £12 a month, and unlimited UK data with 25GB of global roaming for £20 a month. All plans are flexible with no exit fees, allowing customers to switch or cancel anytime.
Loyalty Discounts
Customers receive a 5% discount off their monthly bill each year, up to a maximum of 30%. The discount applies to the retail price.
Features and Coverage
Monzo Mobile operates via an eSIM and uses the Virgin Media O2 network, offering over 99% UK coverage. Customers can manage their mobile bill through the Monzo app, track data usage, and monitor roaming.

Comparison with Other Providers
While Monzo Mobile offers yearly discounts, cheaper upfront deals are available elsewhere. For example, Lebara provides 10GB of UK data for £5.95 a month on a rolling contract. Talkmobile offers 20GB for £5.95 a month, and ID Mobile has 25GB for £6 a month or unlimited data for £15 a month.
Tips for Saving on Mobile Bills
If you are out of contract, check your usage and compare prices on comparison websites. You can then switch to a cheaper provider or negotiate with your current one. Benefit claimants may qualify for social tariffs starting from £12 a month for broadband and £10 for mobile, though eligibility varies.
