UK Disney Travel Specialist Simply Florida Travel Collapses, Stranding Holidaymakers

A British travel company renowned for crafting dream Disney vacations and bucket-list adventures to iconic North American destinations has abruptly ceased trading, leaving numerous holidaymakers in the lurch with cancelled flights and abandoned holiday packages.

Specialist Agency Goes Bust

Simply Florida Travel Ltd, operating from its base in Glasgow, had carved a niche as an expert in transatlantic holidays. The firm's core business involved designing and selling elaborate, once-in-a-lifetime itineraries for British travellers seeking the magic of Disneyland, Disney World, Universal Studios, and the excitement of New York City, Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Miami, alongside various cruise packages.

According to official records from Companies House, the independent travel agency initiated the process to be struck off the register on October 13, 2025. The company was formally dissolved on January 6, 2026, and subsequently ceased operations as an ATOL-protected entity on January 20, 2026. Its website has since been taken offline, signalling the definitive end of its operations.

Financial Protection and Customer Recourse

The collapse brings the UK's Air Travel Organisers' Licensing (ATOL) scheme into focus. This financial protection programme is designed to safeguard British travellers when travel firms fail. ATOL has confirmed via its official channels that Simply Florida Travel operated under a franchise agreement with The Travel Trust Association (TTA).

Customers who have seen their travel plans ruined by the firm's insolvency are advised to contact the TTA directly to initiate the process for any refunds they may be entitled to receive. This is the primary recourse for affected holidaymakers seeking financial redress.

A Trend of Travel Industry Failures

Simply Florida Travel represents the latest casualty in a series of travel agency collapses across the United Kingdom in recent months. Other notable firms that have shuttered include Regen Central Ltd, Gold Crest Holidays, Great Little Escapes, Jetline Travel, and Asiara UK Ltd, highlighting ongoing volatility within the sector.

Social Media Legacy and Final Promotions

The agency's social media profiles, which remain active, paint a poignant picture of its former ambitions. Its description promised, "Simply Florida Travel not just another travel agent, we are here to build your dream trip, whether it is 2 weeks in one hotel and visiting the parks or multiple hotels and different experiences we can help you with it all."

In its final promotional push on Facebook in May 2025, the agency advertised the "2026 Ultimate City & Falls Escape" to New York, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. Ironically, this package was scheduled to run from January 8 to January 15, 2026—dates that now fall squarely after the company's dissolution. The seven-night trip was priced from £1,279 per person, featuring hotel stays in each city, a complimentary NYC Savings Card, and requiring a modest deposit of just £125 per traveller.

The sudden closure has undoubtedly delivered a significant blow to customers who placed their trust and holiday dreams in the hands of this specialist operator, underscoring the importance of robust financial protections in the travel industry.
