The renowned Four Seasons hotel chain has officially expanded its luxury offerings from land to sea with the debut of its first-ever luxury yacht. The inaugural vessel, named Four Seasons I, commenced its maiden voyage last week, sailing through the picturesque waters of the Mediterranean. This marks a significant milestone for the brand, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year, coinciding with the opening of its first hotel in 1961.
Unveiling the Four Seasons I: A New Era of Maritime Luxury
Four Seasons I represents a bold entry into the luxury cruise market, designed to provide an unparalleled private yacht experience. The vessel measures an impressive 679 feet in length and can accommodate between 180 to 222 guests, with a remarkable crew-to-passenger ratio of one-to-one, ensuring personalised service throughout the journey. Its design draws inspiration from the legendary super yacht Christina O, once owned by Aristotle Onassis, evoking the mid-century glamour associated with that era.
Luxurious Accommodations and Exclusive Features
The yacht boasts 95 spacious suites, each featuring private terraces, walk-in wardrobes, and dining room areas. Notably, there are no interior cabins, guaranteeing that every guest enjoys ample natural light and stunning sea views. Among the standout accommodations are the 10,000-square-foot Funnel Suite and the nearly 8,000-square-foot Loft Suite, located at the front and back of the ship, respectively. Additional amenities include private plunge pools, high-end culinary options, and access to exclusive ports and yacht-only harbours.
Customised Itineraries and Global Destinations
Rather than following a standard cruise schedule, each voyage on Four Seasons I is tailored by a personal yacht consultant to reflect the individual interests and passions of the guests. In its debut year, the yacht will offer 32 voyages across 52 sailings, exploring 130 destinations in over 30 countries. Summer itineraries will include visits to Greek islands, Croatia, and the French Riviera, while winter sailings will head to the Caribbean and Bahamas. Highlights of the customised routes feature stops in Saint-Tropez, Bodrum, and less-frequented harbours such as Hydra and Montenegro, along with scenic cruises along the Croatian coast.
Wellness and Culinary Excellence Onboard
Wellness is a central focus of the Four Seasons I experience, with included access to the high-end L’Oceana Spa. This facility offers a hammam, sauna, aromatic steam room, cold therapy room, cryotherapy, infrared therapy beds, and hydrotherapy areas. Guests can participate in sunrise yoga and meditation on the deck, private breathwork sessions, personalised fitness training, and guided mindfulness practices.
Culinary offerings are equally impressive, with 11 restaurants and lounges onboard. These range from refined Mediterranean seafood to an intimate omakase experience. The chef-in-residence series at Sedna restaurant will feature a rotating roster of talent from Michelin-starred Four Seasons restaurants worldwide, including chefs like Christian Le Squer of Le Cinq, Guillaume Galliot of Caprice, Yoric Tièche of Le Cap, and Paolo Lavezzini of Il Palagio.
Unique Onboard Amenities and Future Expansion
The yacht includes a Transverse Marina, allowing guests direct access to the sea for swimming and watersports during dedicated marina days in peaceful, remote waters. For relaxation, there is a 66-foot saltwater pool, whose floor can be raised to transform the area into a dance floor or event space for evening entertainment.
Cruise fares start from approximately £18,600 per person, positioning this as a premium offering in the luxury travel market. Looking ahead, a second yacht is scheduled for launch in 2027, with an option to build a third, indicating the brand's commitment to expanding its maritime presence.
Alejandro Reynal, president and chief executive of Four Seasons, commented on the launch, stating, "Four Seasons Yachts is a continuation of the pioneering ambition on which Four Seasons was built, and will reflect the same genuine care, service excellence, and exceptional moments we create for guests on land. We are proud to introduce a new expression of our brand at sea, opening an entirely new horizon for our guests."
