Robbie Williams Unveils Vision for Global Hotel Chain with Integrated Music Venues
Music icon Robbie Williams has disclosed ambitious plans to establish his own worldwide chain of hotels, each featuring dedicated music venues where he intends to perform. The revelation came during an interview with BBC Breakfast's culture correspondent Charlotte Gallagher, as the 51-year-old singer reflected on his evolving career and future aspirations.
From Stage to Hospitality: A New Venture
The Take That star, who recently launched his Long 90's Tour in Glasgow, shared his vision while sitting on the edge of a stage beside a drum set. 'There's plenty I want to do, I want to build hotels,' Williams revealed enthusiastically. When asked about potential locations, he exclaimed 'Anywhere!' before elaborating on his unique concept.
'I want to build hotels with my own venues in and then I want to play my own hotels,' the singer explained, suggesting a revolutionary approach to combining hospitality with live entertainment. This announcement comes as Williams continues to expand his creative horizons beyond traditional music performance.
Educational Ambitions and Chart Success
Beyond his hospitality plans, Williams expressed interest in establishing what he called 'a university of entertainment.' He revealed having developed a syllabus in his mind, viewing this as 'a great revenge on education for somebody that left school with nothing higher than a D to go in and revolutionise education.'
The father-of-four's announcement follows his recent historic achievement in the Official Albums Chart. With his latest release BRITPOP, Williams has surpassed The Beatles to become the artist with the most UK Number One albums of all time, securing his 16th chart-topping LP.
Speaking about this milestone, Williams said: 'BRITPOP is the record I've always wanted to make, and seeing it become my 16th Number 1 album means everything to me. Thank you to all the fans who have been with me every step of the way. You've made my dreams come true.'
A Record-Breaking Career
Williams' chart dominance spans nearly three decades, beginning with his 1997 debut solo album Life Thru a Lens reaching Number One. His impressive catalogue of chart-topping albums includes:
- I've Been Expecting You (1998)
- Sing When You're Winning (2000)
- Swing When You're Winning (2001)
- Escapology (2002)

Surprise Album Release
Williams surprised fans by releasing BRITPOP three weeks earlier than originally planned, with the album dropping unexpectedly in the early hours of Friday, January 16. The launch was marked by projections of the album artwork onto several famous London landmarks.
The album had initially been scheduled for October release but was postponed to February to avoid clashing with Taylor Swift's Life Of A Showgirl, with Williams admitting he 'couldn't compete' with the American superstar. This strategic move ultimately contributed to his record-breaking chart success.
As Williams continues his current tour and develops his hospitality and educational ventures, the music industry watches with interest to see how these ambitious plans will materialise alongside his ongoing musical achievements.
