The UK's largest outdoor waterpark, Splashdown Quaywest, has reopened for the summer season, offering families a thrilling day out without the need to travel abroad. Located on Goodrington Sands in Paignton, Devon, the park boasts 18 waterslides, a heated swimming pool, and a dedicated children's splash area, all set against the backdrop of the English Riviera.
Rides and Attractions
From gentle slides for younger visitors to adrenaline-pumping drops for thrill-seekers, the waterpark caters to all ages. The Devil's Drop, a 65-foot vertical slide, challenges the bravest riders, while the Screamer launches guests at a 60-degree angle. The Wild Kamikaze, stretching 60 metres, features three steep drops in succession. For children, Shipwreck Island offers a pirate-themed interactive zone with seven gentle slides, a tipping bucket, and other water features. The park also includes a 20-metre heated swimming pool, cafes, and restaurants.
Opening Hours and Tickets
Currently open on weekends only, the waterpark will operate daily from 10am to 5pm during half-term, with extended hours in July and August. Tickets can be booked in advance for sessions lasting two to four hours, or for all-day admission starting at £31 for adults. Visitors often combine their trip with time on Goodrington Beach, a Blue Flag beach with soft golden sand and clear, shallow waters ideal for paddling and swimming.

The beach promenade is part of the South West Coast Path, leading to Roundham Head for coastal walks with spectacular views.
