Law enforcement officials responded to a 911 call reporting an unspecified disturbance at a property in Tarzana, located in the San Fernando Valley, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers found Handy, 81, unconscious in the front yard suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Arrest Made
Michael Gledhill, 44, the son of Handy's girlfriend and a resident of the home, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Gledhill was booked at a Van Nuys jail.
