Prince Harry is reportedly “lost in his own anxiety” as a royal commentator criticises him for behaving more like a “spoilt celebrity than the son of the King.” The Duke of Sussex has made a last-minute change to his upcoming UK visit, opting to travel solo to London instead of with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Security Concerns Prompt Change of Plans
Initially, Harry had intended to bring his family to the UK. However, over the weekend, it emerged that he will travel alone due to security fears. The possibility of his family joining him elsewhere in the country remains uncertain. The duke had been awaiting a review by the Risk Management Board (RMB), part of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) process that rules on his security requirements. Just days before the trip, the Sussexes were informed that no decision had been made, and reports suggest a request for police protection for the upcoming visit was denied.
Royal Expert Slams 'Entitled' Behaviour
Ingrid Seward, author and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, told the Mirror: “Harry is lost in his own anxiety about his family and behaving like an entitled prince who either gets his way, or it's no way. He is behaving more like a spoilt celebrity than the second son of the King.”
Family Reunion Uncertain
The Daily Express has been told that the Sussex camp are “still waiting on a decision” regarding whether it is safe for Harry’s wife and children to visit other parts of the UK. The Sussex children last saw their grandfather, King Charles III, in person during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
Public Opinion Favours Solo Trip
A recent Daily Express poll of 2,884 readers between July 4 and July 5 found that seven out of ten (1,988) said Harry was right to come back to the UK solo. Nearly three out of ten (768) said it was the wrong choice, while 128 voted “I don’t know.”
