Alan Carr's 'Intimate' Greek Dating Confession with Amanda Holden
Alan Carr's 'Intimate' Dating App Confession

Comedian and television presenter Alan Carr has opened up about a surprisingly personal experience while filming his renovation show, The Greek Job, with co-host Amanda Holden. The revelation involves a well-intentioned but naive attempt by Holden to help Carr navigate the dating scene in Corfu.

A Greek Dating Adventure

Speaking candidly, Carr, 49, explained that Holden, 54, took on the role of a matchmaker during their time abroad. He confirmed that she put him on a local Greek dating app, an endeavour that quickly became more revealing than either had anticipated.

"Amanda tries to set me up and it becomes a bit like Celebs Go Dating!" Carr told The Sun. "I go on a few dates and — you know what? — love is in the air. I think you're gonna be surprised."

The situation took an unexpected turn when the specifics of the app's questionnaire emerged. Carr admitted that Holden was a bit "naïve" about the level of detail required. "I don't think she realised how much information the gays want!" he quipped. "There were sizes, kinks: ‘Are you a train or a tunnel?’ ‘Are you the letter or the letterbox?’"

He recounted Holden's reaction, saying, "She went: ‘Alan, I love you to bits, but I've had to guess some of these.’ I think she was a bit naive and thought they'd be asking about eye colour, but it was quite intimate."

From Traitors to Television Triumphs

This amusing anecdote comes as Carr enjoys a wave of professional success. Fresh from his victory on Celebrity Traitors, for which he generously donated his £87,500 prize money to Neuroblastoma UK, the comedian remains a constant presence on British screens.

He is currently appearing on his quiz show Picture Slam and is set to return in January with the new series of The Greek Job. Carr teased that the upcoming programme would feature a lot of animals, including a visit to a donkey sanctuary.

A Fortune Teller's Prediction

Beyond his current projects, Carr also reflected on the origins of his career, sharing a remarkable story from his childhood. He revealed that a fortune teller accurately predicted his future fame.

Appearing on ITV’s This Morning to discuss his sitcom Changing Ends, which is inspired by his early life, Carr explained: "A fortune teller came to the door and she was selling pegs, and she went to my mum, ‘Your kid’s gonna be famous’."

He added with his signature humour, "And Gary, my brother, was playing in the background. So that’s actually in there. And, of course, I’m like, ‘What, him? I want to be famous’. But that genuinely happened. That is crazy."

This story, along with his recent dating confessions, paints a picture of a beloved entertainer whose life, both on and off screen, continues to be full of surprising and heartwarming moments.
