Former Emmerdale Actor Sam Hall Becomes Electrician Post Exit

Sam Hall, known for playing Samson Dingle on Emmerdale, has reportedly left the ITV soap and retrained as an electrician. The actor, who took over the role in 2009 at age five, recently celebrated his 18th birthday.

Hall's character Samson was involved in major storylines, including a teenage pregnancy with Amelia Spencer, which led to the birth of his daughter Esther. Off-screen, Hall is two years older than his character.

Before Hall, the role of Samson was played by three other child actors. Benjamin Shooter, who played the role in 2007-2008, was allegedly sacked after becoming distressed during filming of a family row scene. His mother claimed executives were 'cruel' for casting him in upsetting scenes.

Emmerdale bosses defended the recast, stating: 'We frequently re-cast babies and small children if necessary as their welfare is our primary concern.' Charlie Pell briefly held the role before Hall was cast.

Hall previously expressed his love for the show, saying: 'From the day I started everyone was so supportive and kind. Being in the Dingle family meant growing up with characters who are as great off screen as they are on screen.'
